Structural and geotechnical monitoring

Early warning for retaining walls, slopes and embankments

Sensor-enabled Early Risk Analytics & Intelligence

Serai Tech connects wireless sensors, a monitoring platform and engineering models, so asset owners see how a structure and the ground around it move, and act before movement becomes failure.

Drag to rotate. Rain raises the water table, the slope starts to move, a sensor raises an alert and the gateway passes it to the monitoring platform.

Mission

Continuous deformation monitoring

Retaining wall failures follow progressive deformation that inspection at intervals can miss. Serai Tech measures that deformation continuously, maps it across the structure and alerts the people responsible for it.

Solutions

What the platform does

Continuous sensing

Battery and solar wireless nodes on the structure and in the ground report tilt, pore pressure, earth pressure and temperature at set intervals, day and night.

Deflection mapping

A digital twin converts point readings into a deflection map of the structure, with each sensor's history one click away.

Alerts and reporting

Warning and critical thresholds, notifications when a sensor goes silent, and exports for engineering reports.

Technology

Three layers

Sensor layer

MEMS sensors designed in house: tilt, pore pressure, earth pressure and temperature on one node family, linked by long-range low-power radio.

Platform layer

An encrypted data path from each site into a database Serai Tech owns. Customers see their own structures at monitor.seraitech.ai.

Prediction layer

Engineering models of the structure combined with machine learning on its deflection history.

Prediction

Forecasting structure behaviour

Each structure builds a deflection record from the day its sensors go live. Serai Tech trains models on that record, checks them against structural mechanics and uses them to flag a change in behaviour before it reaches an alarm threshold.

The prediction layer is in development.

Applications

Where the sensors go

  • Highway retaining walls
  • Rail cuttings and embankments
  • Dams
  • River embankments and dykes
  • Excavations and slopes

Why Serai Tech

Advantage

Own sensors

Sensors designed and built by the team keep the cost per point low enough to instrument a whole structure face.

Engineering first

Deflection is reconstructed with structural mechanics and checked against theory, alongside threshold alarms.

Data kept

Every reading is stored for the life of the asset in a database Serai Tech controls, ready for reporting and model training.
